Craig Beney (B Comm Dip Acc, CA (SA))
Craig is a founding shareholder and co-CEO of Helical Capital Partners. As Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Convergence Partners, he focused primarily on governance, treasury and risk issues including E&S within Convergence Partners and portfolio companies, and prioritised the effective management of the Convergence Partners Communications Infrastructure Fund (CPCIF) – an African ICT infrastructure fund. Prior to joining Convergence Partners, Craig spent two years as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Phatisa Group (a niche private equity manager on the African continent) and was responsible for financial and investor reporting for the African Agriculture Fund, and was also instrumental in the establishment and raising of capital for the Pan African Housing Fund.
An impact investor at heart, Craig has considerable expertise in risk mitigation and capital management predominantly in the banking and private equity sector. This includes fulfilling roles at the Financial Services Authority (FSA), UBS and Barclays Capital in the UK, Investec Bank in South Africa and as a founding shareholder of Integer (a bank disintermediation start-up). Craig is also a non-executive board member of the Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA) where he is responsible for the organisation's Asset Promotion sub-committee.

Carlos Ferreira (B.Comm (Honours), MBA)
Carlos is co-CEO of Helical Capital Partners, previously holding the position of CEO of financial and advisory services company, Fairstone Capital. Prior to this, for a period of 13 years, Carlos was the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for a number of privately held investment groups. During his tenure, he held numerous board positions including that of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of JSE-listed Gijima (one of the largest ICT groups in SA at the time) and was also a non-executive board member of Tourvest Group (the largest independent tourism group in Africa). In addition, Carlos has over a decade’s experience in the African banking sector, having worked for leading institutions such as Standard Bank and Absa, focusing on retail, corporate, merchant banking and private equity. Throughout his career, Carlos has invested, or been active in technology, media, telecommunications, tourism, agriculture, real estate and financial services.

Yolande Tabo (B.Comm, PGDIPACC, CA(SA))
Yolande Tabo is Chairperson and Non-Executive Director at Helical Capital Partners. She is also a Director at Convergence Partners, where she focuses on investor relations and capital raising initiatives for the various funds under management and, on transformation. Yolande has private equity experience spanning capital raising, stakeholder management and finance and investment performance monitoring. In addition, Yolande fulfils the role of training officer for the Convergence Partners CA Training Programme and serves as a member of the Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association’s (SAVCA) Capital Raising and Transformation sub-committees. She has previously served on the boards of some of Convergence Partners portfolio companies and is currently a trustee of its social venture capital foundation and staff trust. Yolande completed the Programme for Leadership Development at the Harvard Business School.
